As if having my wallet, credit cards and passport stolen – and then having them returned to me by the police after someone turned them in, only once they were worthless – weren’t enough, Friday I had a capper to my worst week in the history of bad China weeks. I went to the gym thinking a good run would benefit me and give me a channel to vent my frustrations, but after I got out of the shower and opened my locker, out came my iPhone (which I’ve had for less than two months since my older one broke/wore out after two years), resulting in this:
Apparently I can get a new Apple brand screen at the Apple store for $250 (at least that’s the price in the States), from a techie guy with an English-language website for a little over $100 including an 18-month warranty, or for an undeteremined amount to be bargained for at the Zhongguancun electronics market, with no guarantee or warranty. Either way, this has been the most expensive week ever. =(
