Today Brian & I took his sister and her boyfriend (who are in town visiting this week from Dubai/Abu Dhabi) to the Great Wall. Of course, I’ve seen the Wall several times, but today we went to a section that was new to both of us, in Hebei, the province due north of Beijing. The weather was a perfect sunny and 85, and we couldn’t have asked for bluer skies. I can’t quite get over the majesty of the place, so I thought I’d share some photos from the day (see the full album here):

Me, chilling in a window at the Great Wall

So, uh, this big wall here is pretty long. It's kind of great.
Beautiful photos! I visited the wall, other part of it, in February when there was still little bit snow on the ground. Being is not so good condition it was a tough job to get where I was supposed to get. Can just imagine how it feels like in the summer time! p.s. This is first time to read your blog so I’ll continue my tour to your older posts
Hi, Sara! I think you’re right. February might be a tough time to see the wall! I guess I have now been twice in the fall (September and November) and once in the summer. The weather around Beijing is typically best in the fall, although it’s hard to predict when the blue sky days will appear!
